Top Rated Robot Vacuums

Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top rated robots we tested the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features and therefore it could get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and may have issues traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include clearing out any clutter or toys it might encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging, self cleaning vacuum cleaner-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it comes with a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot via the app or by voice.

The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is the self cleaning vacuum cleaner-emptying bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. However, it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, like our Top rated robot vacuum picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. As a result, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often will run out of battery before making it back to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is able to better maneuver its own. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also comes with physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistance. It is also more durable and has a stronger motor, and performs notably better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet, while providing a greater variety of automation features.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name that you see on all sorts of home electronics, so it comes as no surprise that they're also one of the top robotic vacuum and mop makers. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a wide range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications docking frequency settings, and many more. It's easy to understand and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. However, it did not do particularly well in avoiding taller objects like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tried, which might be a deterrent for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access via the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or the kids if you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin are washable to make cleanup quick and easy. You can also track the vacuum's status and send it to its dock for charging with the press of a single button. The app lets you alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.

The app also makes it simple to manually steer the robot should you need to. For instance, my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that can trip up some of the other robots I've tried. However, the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to create a weekly cleaning schedule is a fantastic time-saving feature.
