UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors wear out over time and will need to be replaced. It is essential to be able to match the dimensions of the old handles when replacing them.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles that are used on the majority of doors. These handle types can either work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two offset or inline spindles (pad). They are generally used on UPVC double glazed doors. The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes, including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad designs come with screws and a spindle that allow them to be fitted on any new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is usually an advantage when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door handles victorian lock mechanism. For example, external doors require a more secure cylinder whilst internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders are available with extra features which can enhance security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured correctly to ensure it is the right size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however, when this isn't feasible, you can take it off and take it off to measure. A cylinder that extends beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks such as lock snapping, so it is essential that it is not too long.

The addition of this simple element is among the most effective ways to fix this and it is also an effective way to keep your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, since they aren't always simple to close manually.

These spring cassettes have been specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks that are sprung, they will not fit multipoint handles that are not sprung and you will require a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram).
