Albums

The discography of American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists as well as on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs album from 1975 Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.

Toto's third album, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their earlier efforts and was criticized for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group and the band held auditions for the new frontman. The band picked guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old demos and tapes to release a special edition called Toto XX. The album was a hit by fans, and the band embarked on a tour that featured former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.

In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.
