3 Wheel Double Buggy

The Fox 5 is an all-terrain stroller that's ideal for parents who want to explore off-road. It has a suspension that is impressive, as well as large wheels that are puncture proof.

Mountain Buggy Duet will be the best choice if you enjoy off-road driving. It is a side by tandem with the most compact footprint of any double buggy available. It's much easier to get through narrow doors as well as on public transport. It is also able to climb over and up kerbs. It also has a handbrake on the adjustable handlebar for extra security and safety.

The UPPAbaby vista 2 double is another lightweight option that can be used by twins or a baby and toddler. The seats come with multi-position recline and UPF 50+ sunshades, and the canopy can be adjusted to keep the sun out of your child's eyes. It comes with 30 different seating configurations, a built-in board for older children who like to walk, and a 'cinema mode' that raises the back seats to provide better visibility.

The phil&teds dots are fantastic single buggys that can be easily adapted to accommodate two (or three!) in a variety of configurations. This is particularly helpful for parents with children in a car seat, since the frame can be equipped with a wedgie for optimum position, and also car seat adapters to a wider range of brands.

Suspension

The suspension of a double 3-wheel buggy will determine how easily you and your child/children can push it. A smooth ride is vital because babies feel every bump in the road, especially if it's on rough terrain such as grass or paths that aren't paved. Certain models also have locking front wheels to assist with maneuvering and getting over obstacles like curbs.

Some models use air-filled tyres that provide a fantastic all-terrain adventure, but they could be prone to punctures so make sure you have a spare set in the trunk. Other models use gel or foam tyres, designed to take the bumps and can be less prone to punctures but you might find them to be a bit stiff and uncomfortable on your child's back when you choose to jog.

MFM reviewer Kath tested the Urban Glide 2 through its trials with her newborn and 3 wheel push chair years old son, and found it coped really well on tricky terrain: "it navigated effortlessly over grass and bumpy pavements cobbles, dirt tracks and cobbles with ease and was easy to maneuver around corners and climb up and down kerbs. The 16" rear facing 3 wheel stroller wheels, when combined with the lockable swivel wheels on the front, make it an extremely safe jogging experience. The Urban Glide 2 has a variety of features, like an enormous seat unit that comes with padded cover and hood that offers 50+ UV protection, and easy-to-use and rechargeable visibility lights.

Folding

A 3 wheel push chair-wheel double buggy folds very neatly to store it. There are options that fold flat or stand up (as though they were in a pushchair) and those that open to reveal a more umbrella-like folding that has an operated break. In general, the more wheels a buggy comes with the more able it will be to handle on rough terrain. This is particularly true if the wheels are larger than average. This will provide you with more stability and reduce the chance that your children will fall over or tip over.
