Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills and staining) in one session without the need to change devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot should have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly application that lets you pick the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For example, you can choose to have the robot do a deep clean in the kitchen and living rooms but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. The only drawback is that it is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will reveal exactly what the robot accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station has a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the water tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is clearly laid out and easy to understand however we would have liked to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic hoovers cleaners might miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two models I tested it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean around the objects without a pause.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also packed with features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it has only three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-filling.

The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll have to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

Unlike other robots, which are restricted to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors or vice versa. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple to use and intuitive The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous convenient features, making it a great choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, then refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is overflowing and alert you before it gets overflowing, reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive models available and comes with a lot of extra features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and small dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other best robot vacuum cleaner and mop mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning routine, and there are many functions that other robots that vacuum and mop don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles instead of using a manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
